Arinto dos Açores is one of Pico’s oldest and most traditional grape varieties, perfectly adapted to the island’s currais (stone-walled vineyards), its volcanic basalt soils, and the constant Atlantic influence. The wine reveals striking mineral aromas, notes of salinity, and hints of citrus. On the palate, it’s vibrant and precise, with endless freshness and remarkable longevity.
After harvest, the grapes were cooled in a cold chamber to minimize oxidation and preserve their aromatic integrity. The must was clarified by static decantation at low temperature, and fermentation took place in stainless steel vats at 15ºC for 15 days. The wine then matured sur lie for 12 months before bottling, enhancing its texture, depth, and aging potential.
